  • Developed and delivered strategic and risk communication training for environmental professionals in Sacramento California and Columbus Ohio.
  • Developed and delivered custom public conflict training for senior BLM managers in Arizona. 
  • Delivered Communication, Emotion, Outrage and Public Participation training to BLM in Moreno Valley and El Centro CA.
  • Conducted Emotion, Outrage and Public Participation two-day workshop for environmental consultants, corporate executives and federal government managers at the University of Las Vegas – UNLV.
  • Regularly deliver IAP2 Public Participation Certificate and Emotion, Outrage and Public Participation training at the Chicago Metropolitan Area Planning Agency.
  • Delivered IAP2 Public Participation Certificate class through Arizona State University.
  • Developed and conducted customized public involvement training workshop for New Mexico Power Company (PNM).
  • Delivered IAP2 Public Participation Certificate training at the National Training Center for the Bureau of Land Management.
  • Course developer and faculty instructor for crisis prevention and management training at Motorola University. Students included Motorola and facility managers and staff as well as senior managers for Motorola vendors and customers.
  • John Godec is one of the original global master trainers for the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). He is a developer and author of the course and a member of the IAP2 training committee.
  • Conducted IAP2 certificate course training for senior managers and staff of Arizona Public Service Company in Arizona.
  • Developed and delivered two-day key message and media training workshop for the Gila River Indian Community’s Wild Horse Pass Development Authority.
  • Developed and delivered custom issue and reputation management interactive workshop for the City of Lubbock, Texas.
  • Conducted IAP2 certificate course for IAP2 sponsored training in Calgary, Alberta.
  • Developed and delivering a series of day-long issue assessment and management workshops (Rules of Engagement) for senior managers of a Southwestern State Transportation Department.
  • Developed and facilitated a two-day workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Professional Knowledge Centre, on Best Practices of Corporate Communications attended by senior corporate communication managers from throughout Southeast Asia.
  • Featured speaker for the 4th and 6th annual International Emergency Medical Preparedness Educational Symposium in Albany, N.Y. (Conference was halted on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. Spent the remaining week staffing a temporary backup Emergency Operations Center for New York State at the conference hotel.)
  • Featured speaker for an International Corporate Security conference hosted by Motorola Corporation in Tempe, Arizona.
  • Keynote speaker at the Contingency Planning & Management annual conference in New Orleans.
  • Conducted Y2K public and news media relations training class for Nationwide Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio.
  • Delivered “Rules of Engagement” public, news media, and spokesperson training session for fire department, law enforcement, environmental quality, and public works personnel as well as public relations staff and elder leaders of the Gila River Indian Community in Arizona.
  • Conducted Atlanta and Las Vegas training classes in public and media response to Y2K concerns for government and Fortune 500 clients of the International Quality and Productivity Center in Boston.
  • Guest lecturer at Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA).
  • Developed and delivered half-day and full-day courses pertaining to issues management and prevention, preparation, response and recovery (P2R2) crisis management technique.
  • Conducted communication and public issues training for the Federal Highway Administration, Washington D.C.
  • Conducted crisis management and response, and reputation management training for Motorola Corp. throughout the United States and Great Britain.
  • Conducted public participation, issues, and reputation training for the National Transportation Public Affairs Workshop in Washington.
  • Conducted crisis prevention and management training for WhiteOak Semiconductor in Richmond, Virginia.
  • Developed and produced an emergency communication handbook and training video for Motorola crisis management teams and security staff.
  • Designed and conducted training for Arizona Public Service Company (APS), the City of Scottsdale, and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, on Engaging the Public on Development and Siting Issues.
  • Conducted risk communication and news media training sessions and helped design communication strategy for principles and consultants of Alliance Pipeline, a limited partnership of 17 U.S. and Canadian petroleum companies siting and constructing a 1,900-mile high-pressure natural gas pipeline from British Columbia to Illinois.
  • With Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz., developed classes for municipal employees in dealing with the public more effectively. Godec Randall & Associates also developed a brochure for the classes.
  • Conducted news media and spokesperson training for scientists, engineers and staff at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. Developed an innovative program which hosted environmental reporters in discussions with agency staff and management.
  • Featured speaker and trainer for government agencies, the International Association of Business Communicators, the American Industrial Hygiene Association and others dealing with news media.
  • Conducted risk communication training of ADEQ scientists and engineers. Conducted and participated in risk communication training for the Arizona Emergency Response Commission and others.
  • Conducting ongoing community relations and news media training, and developed communication strategy and protocol for ST Microelectronics Phoenix, Arizona and Dallas, Texas semi-conductor manufacturing facilities. Managed ongoing communication projects.
  • Featured speaker at the US Department of Transportation’s “Elevating Public Awareness of Transportation Issues” symposium in Washington D.C. in December 1998.
  • Conducted numerous public and media training classes over several years for a Southwestern State Transportation Department.
  • Served as consultant to the Yavapai/Apache Indian nation for public information and news media relations relative to land re-designation as a Class I air quality area.
  • Completed Introduction to Disaster Services, Mass Care, and Damage Assessment courses –  American Red Cross.
  • Completed Incident Command and Weapons of Mass Destruction certificates – U. S. Department of Defense.
